Eliza Cheng Art
Eliza Cheng, a Chinese studied in Hong Kong, then England. She acquired an MFA in Painting with the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She is an interdisciplinary artist doing painting, graphic design and publications, art teaching and business consultancy.
Eliza paints a wide range of subjects and mediums. Her figure drawing and paintings presenting at this Portal mainly compose of two series:
Movements - a series of stylised figures in which minimal painting elements are used in a dynamic composition to portray some confident, savvy and free-spirited characters. Images are expressive, and the act of drawing liberating. With casual and sketchy descriptions, fantasised gestures, and simple compositions, certain attitudes and emotions are nobly depicted.
Snapshots – a series of intimate art pieces showcasing a dreamlike figure who jumps from above the sky to the ground, crosses oceans and rivers, walks into surreal woods and fairylands, and leaves footprints in rural and almost unvisited homelands, as well as modern life communities. The works not only narrate some favourite childhood memories, but also curious moments, intrigues, adventures and indulgence in ordinary life.
Eliza exhibits regularly and she takes commission work too. Her art is held in private collection around the world including US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
