Iti Das is a self taught artist, setting up her practice 7 years ago, leaving behind her corporate environment in The City to focus on developing her art full time. She is drawn to creating both abstract and semi figurative works, using black and white references only to apply abstract interpretations to skin tones, without being held to realism in composition or proportions. Working predominantly in oils, Iti creates on large canvasses that work as statement pieces, adding colour to neutral settings or fulfilling briefs for buyers who are drawn to contemporary portraiture for their interior needs.
Working from her loft studio in West London, Iti's home converts to a gallery every September, welcoming local residents and London art collectors during Ealing's annual Art Trail event, and also exhibits at art shows open to independent artists.
