About the Image
The wheel dominates in this Original London Eye Art. Also known as the Millennium Wheel when it was first contructed, the Eye has captured public imagination. It’s dominant, impressive and overshadows everything around it. Near the London Eye is a statue. It too is impressive, but not on the scale of the London Eye although what it represents is arguably more impressive. It’s a memorial sculpture for the International Brigade. Created by Ian Walters in bronze, it recognises those who fought in the Spanish Civil War. It’s a powerful image of four figures supporting a fifth wounded figure. The full story is here.
As you stand next to it at night and look to the Thames the wheel towers over it like a halo. Which was the perspective I wanted for this original London Eye Art. You can see the post about its creation in my Blog – artistic musings.
Framing – The painting is sold unframed but framing can be arranged in a white frame with double mount off white and dark grey as an add on item. Please allow 2-3 weeks for this option. Images are for guidance only.
